Xeeva conducts a detailed analysis of historic spend data as the foundation for identifying and then executing sourcing opportunities. Different from other analysis efforts, we use our [Imperfect Data] technology to accelerate analysis and improve accuracy and precision of the output. As part of this work we identify and help prioritize commodity categories by impact, speed to results and likelihood of success. We compare these to benchmarks and we look at all of this on a global and local basis.
The objective of our sourcing projects is to negotiate and establish supplier contracts that contain a combination of pricing, quality and measurable service levels, which collectively, deliver strategic benefits to you. We review multiple factors before conducting any sourcing activity with or for you and our approach is typically categorized in one of three areas:
- Incumbent Negotiations (Quick Hits) – For the initial quick hit categories we conduct a rapid sourcing process including rigorous supplier negotiations to finalize supplier agreements that deliver immediate results to you.
- Project Based Sourcing (Rapid Sourcing) – For in-scope categories, the team will execute a competitive bid process. Supplier proposals are evaluated; negotiations conducted and supplier awards made based on evaluation criteria developed by your stakeholders and aligned with our best practices.
- Strategic Sourcing – For large, planned and recurring spend, we employ a strategic sourcing process – defining a sourcing strategy, preparing and executing an RFx or executing an incumbent sourcing strategy. We engage in negotiations, using our own benchmarks to ensure a competitive outcome. We develop the business case that you then use with your teams to validate the recommendations and savings opportunity.
In all cases we document the savings goal and sourcing strategy, the addressable spend associated with the opportunity, supply market considerations, internal barriers and issues, supplier evaluation criteria, selected sourcing strategy, supplier selection business case recommendation, supplier selection and final recommendation and savings calculation.
Category Management Services
Xeeva’s category management services drive realization of savings identified during sourcing activity and compliment the deployment of our procure to pay solution. Xeeva utilizes any number of proven tactics to support its category management services, which may include catalog enablement, detailed savings tracking and reporting, ongoing price and catalog management, implementation support for new suppliers and pricing, and supplier and internal compliance management.
Tail Spend Management
Tail spend by most estimates represent 10-20% of a company’s total indirect spend. While that doesn’t sound like a lot, it’s also the most difficult to analyze and the most difficult to control. Whether it’s better spend analysis, implementation of our P2P solution to gain complete visibility into spend, or implementation of a spot desk to deal with typical tail spend-like purchases, we know there is opportunity here to drive 10-15% savings in tail spend simply by gaining control.
